Mommy's Lil' baseball player

Scott dressed Jackson this morning and he looked too cute! Like a little baseball player! I couldn't help but take some pictures!

20 weeks/Half way there!!!!

We are finally to the halfway point! Yeah!!! Ava is not much of a kicker like her brother was at this point. Jackson was kicking like crazy but she is much nicer to me! Her kicks are so delicate. My next appointment is Friday March 7th and I'll have another ultrasound. Everything is going great.

Valentine's Day 2008

Jackson and I made Scott some chocolate covered strawberries and had some pictures taken for Valentine's Day. Here are some pics. Also I threw in some pictures of Jackson eating a grapefruit and walking around with his tennis shoes on over his pj's! Too funny!

19 weeks

I had my ultrasound last Friday and they confirmed that my placenta is moving north! I still have partial placenta previa since it is still right next to the cervix but it is not covering it anymore! This is good and hopefully it will continue to move as my belly gets bigger. They confirmed again that we indeed are having a girl. They scheduled another ultrasound in a month to check anatomy and make sure she is growing right on track. As of Friday she's in the 50% for her growth and weight and height is the size of a coke can. That's all for now!

We picked a name.....Ava Reese Samuel

Since we found out we're having a little girl, we've been debating on a name. Scott picked it out! I haven't liked ANY of his boy names so I was surprised to actually like the name he picked out for a girl! Ava Reese Samuel.

IT'S A GIRL!!!

We found out at our ultrasound yesterday that we are having a girl! We are so excited, one of each!

Update

Well I had my appointment this morning at 11. They did an ultrasound and the baby was fine but I indeed had placenta previa. Part of my placenta was covering the cervix. The doctor told me since I was only in my 2nd trimester it was actually better since most of the time the problem corrects itself. If I had been in my 3rd trimester then we would be talking c-section. For now they are just going to keep and eye on it and make sure it migrates upward in the coming weeks. Hopefully things work themselves out. He just told me to take it easy and no rigorous activity.

We did happen to find out the sex of the baby!!!!!! ;-)

Trip to the hospital

Yesterday we had to call the doctor since I had been bleeding since Friday evening. I really didn't think anything of it since it happened with my first pregnancy and it wasn't all that bad. Well after church on Sunday it was still going on so I decided to call my doctor. He told me to come to the hospital to get checked. They poked and prodded me and it was so not fun! They did an ultrasound and found the baby's heartbeat. It was strong and he/she was moving around so the baby was fine. What they did find was that I had a low laying placenta and maybe even placenta previa where the placenta is too close or in some cases completely covers the cervix. As pregnancy progress and the uterus expands even more they said it usually corrects itself and moves away from the cervix. They said mine was just low and possibly could cover the cervix. So, they did blood work, placed a catheter....yuck.....it was horrible! Everything checked out fine but they wanted me to schedule an ultrasound this week to really see the placenta since the machine they had at the hospital wasn't as good as the one they have at their office. So I'm calling this morning to see if they can get me in today. I'll keep everyone updated......

Jackson's new Big Boy Bed!

We bought Jackson his first Big Boy Bed. I figured might as well get him use to one before the baby gets here. It might take him a while to actually "sleep" in it but at least he can play on it and get comfortable being in it. He seemed to take to it pretty well! :-) Our next step is getting new Big Boy bedding! How fun and sad at the same time. He's growing up.....sniff, sniff.......

17 weeks

Looks like we had to change the date of our big ultrasound to Feb 8th. Scott will be out of town the week of Valentine's day, returning Valentine's day so we had to move it up a week, DARN! So, we are finding out a week earlier!!!!! :-)

Here are some pics we took this past weekend. I'm changing my mind again from girl to boy. I feel different everyday so I'm not sure what this kid is going to be! :-)

My 16 week check up

I had my 16 week check up today with my new doctor, Dr. Macdonald. He is really nice and so patient! We heard the baby's heartbeat which was around 150. At my next visit we have our big ultrasound to find out the sex of the baby!!!! On Valentine's Day!!! How sweet is that? I think I changed my mind now from boy to girl. Some things I've found differently from my pregnancy with Jackson. I've been having headaches daily and I haven't been very hungry. We'll see!!!!!

Jackson's 12 month checkup

Well we finally got the go ahead from our insurance company to go to the doctor! I made Jackson an appointment and they were able to see him the same day. He had to get his 12 month shots...poor little guy. One was into the muscle and seemed to hurt pretty bad. He was a champ though. They did a skills assessment on him and turns out he is in the 15-18 month skills range. What a smart little boy!!!! He must get it from his mom! :-) He weighs 21 lbs, 25th percentile, height is 31, 75th percentile and head circumference is 75th percentile.
He is walking nonstop now. He is everywhere! It still looks so funny seeing him walking all through the house!

Oh 'Boys!!!

Well, the day started out fun....their was a race, some fun pics, some good food and then it happened......the Cowboys lost in the first round of the playoffs. It was a sad outcome but we got some good pictures out of it. Jackson fell asleep halfway through the game.....guess he was bored of watching them lose!There's always next year.

15 weeks

Well, I'm officially 15 weeks today. See my pooch? (Sorry for the flash). I'm at the "I think she's just fat" stage instead of "I think she's pregnant!" stage. I just feel bloated all the time. My jeans don't fit and I am constantly unbuttoning my pants. My maternity jeans are still a little too big for me so I have to suffer a little while longer. I think I felt the baby kick the other night. At first I thought it was just gas but I kept feeling a fluttering in my belly. It was neat. I can't wait to feel him/her kick harder! :-) Hopefully we'll be able to find out the sex of the baby at the end of the month.

Where's Daddy?

I told Jackson that Daddy was home and he walked to the door to look out the window. It was too cute!!! He gets so excited to see his Daddy when he gets home. Mom is chopped liver when Dad comes home! :-(

And he's off!

Jackson is now walking! He does still take some falls but for the most part he is getting the hang of it! He will walk from the fireplace to the sofa which is a long walk! He has his hands in the air like a monkey! It's too cute. He is getting so big! Pretty soon he'll be running! :-)

Jackson's first tooth!

It's about time! After one whole year Jackson finally got his first tooth! (Saturday December 29th!) He wasn't even fussy the week before or anything. It just showed up out of nowhere! What a big boy he is!

Update on baby #2

Sorry, I know it's been a while since I posted but here is the scoop on my pregnancy. The second to last day we were in Virigina I had my first sonogram and we saw the little baby! It was a tiny thing. It's head was still bigger than it's body so I was not as far along as they thought. I was 9 weeks then. I just turned 13 weeks last wednesday and finally am over the 1st trimester! Yay! I still feel a little queasy at times but nothing too bad. I am due sometime around the first week of July. I would post pics of my growing expanding belly but no belly just yet!

Merry Christmas 2007

Scott, Jackson and I had a nice Christmas morning. Jackson woke up about 7am and Santa brought so many fun gifts!!! It was so cute watching him play with all of his toys under the tree! He must have been a good boy this year! Later that day we went and visited Scott's grandmother. She was having such a good day. Jackson was hugging and kissing all over her which seemed to lift her spirits.

Jackson's 1st Birthday!

Well, Jackson's 1st birthday kind of got thrown in with Christmas. I felt bad but with the move and Christmas going on at the same time it was inevitable. Since everyone was together for our early Christmas at Scott's mom's house we went ahead and let Jackson open his birthday presents as well. We did have a special birthday cake for him on his actual birthday and it was sweet. He loved the cake! Here are some pics.
