Jackson 6 months

Well, we made it to 6 months! He is doing so well and growing like a weed! At his 6 month check up he weighed 16 pounds and was 26 inches long. He has been sitting up by himself since we left Dallas and he is starting to rock back and fourth, trying to get the hang of crawling! I'm so nervous! Once he gets that down there is nothing stopping him and I will be pulling my hair out following him everywhere! He has increased his solid food feeds and is now holding his sippy cup by himself. Scott gave him a cookie the other day and he was feeding himself. We moved his feeding schedule to every 4 hours instead of 3. He is just not as hungry at 3 hrs anymore.

Here are some cute pics of little Jack! Enjoy!

Love,
Steph

More pics from Dallas trip

Dallas trip

We just got back from our Dallas trip and had the best time. We only wish we could have stayed longer! The time went by so fast! Jackson is a great traveler!!! He did so well on the plane! Everyone around asked what our secret was to keeping him so entertained! His schedule only got messed up the first day we got there and then the day we got back. He got right back into his routine the second day back.

We enjoyed seeing our family and friends and they made it that much harder to want to move back! We went to some of our favorite food joints (Mexican of course!) and took the little kiddies swimming one day. Jackson took to the water great, (nothing like his mom!) We went to the horse races on Friday night and had a great time. We also got to see my dad, Teri, Chris, Cassie and Alyson on saturday and sunday. It was a short visit but we were so glad they were able to see Jackson. We missed seeing Daddy, Aida and Nicholas who weren't able to make it down. Hopefully we'll be able to see them soon. We missed you! It wasn't the same without you!

Jackson is growing by the mintute. He is now sitting up so well on his own. (we still have to watch him as he gets lazy and plops over sometimes). His solid food feedings have increased to three times a day and he is learning to drink from a sippy cup (with mom's help of course). I can't believe tomorrow he will be 6 months old! Time does fly! Here are some pics of our trip to Dallas!

Funny Face/Bath Time/Play time

Here is a picture of Jackson making a funny face. Also a pic of him in his bath robe and more play time. He is sitting up by himself for a couple of seconds before plopping over either on his face or his side. He squeals and laughs everytime Casey comes up to him now. He's beginning to understand who she is I think.

Jackson eating peas

Well, we got to the first "green" food, peas, and Jackson did not like it! He made this horrible face! I like peas so I gave it a try and they tasted like cardboard. Yuck! I'll keep offering them to him to see if he changes his mind but I don't think he will! Here are a couple of his yucky faces!

More Pics from wine festival

Ashlawn Wine Festival/5 months

Here we are at the Ashlawn Wine Festival. We went with Chris and Micah and had SO much fun! Here are a couple of pictures of our day. Jackson was attracting people left and right! He even got swarmed by 5 little girls!

He is now tried rice cereal, bananas, applesauce and sweet potatoes. Next up is peas. He is doing so well with all of them. He is a natural food lover just like his mom. He has mastered rolling over both ways and gets frustrated when he rolls over in his crib and can't keep rolling! We have to constantly go in there and roll him back over or he'll end up giving up and falling asleep on his tummy. He is sitting up with support from mom and dad.

We are so excited to see everyone in June, just a couple of more weeks!

Jackson and Bradley 5 months

Here is a picture of Jackson and his friend Bradley. They are now the same weight! Bradley has constantly been much bigger than Jackson but now my baby has caught up with him! They were born one day apart from each other.

First solid food feeding!!!!

Well, we decided to go ahead and start feeding Jackson rice cereal today. I was reading up in my baby books about what signs to look for that he is ready to start with solids and he has all the signs! Sitting up with support, over 13 lbs, interested in what mom and dad is eating and he increased his feeds from 5 times a day to 8 and he is still waking up at night to eat! I knew he was ready when he started waking up at night to feed all of a sudden. They recommend waiting until babies are 6 months old before starting solids but they could start as early at 4 months old. I could tell he just wasn't getting enough to eat so we went out and bought little plates and spoons and some rice cereal and crossed our fingers he would take to it!

I nursed him first and then we put him in his high chair. To our surprise he opened his mouth wide and took the rice in his mouth, as if saying, "where have you been hiding this stuff?" I was so proud of him! He opened his mouth everytime we put the spoon to his lips! Now, I can't tell you how much he actually took in because a lot of it was on his bib but he sure gobbled it up! We'll keep doing this for his early evening feeding for a couple of weeks until we start seeing he's actually taking more in, then we'll try some other foods. How exciting! My baby is getting to be such a big boy!

Meeting Great Grandpa Reyes/Trip to N.C.

We visited Auntie Gloria and Uncie Rob this past weekend in North Carolina. It was a quick trip but we had a great time hanging out. Great Grandpa Reyes finally got to meet Jackson for the first time! We got some great pics.

Jackson is starting to teethe! His doctor saw one tooth trying to poke through and now he is really feeling it. He has been waking up several times throughout the night which makes for sleepy parents! There's not much we can really do other than try to comfort him. We tried Tylenol and Ambesol but to no avail. He is drooling like crazy and constantly has something in his mouth! Hopefully it will pass soon as I am really getting tired!

4 months old and we rolled over today!!!!! Yeah!

4 months....wow! He had his 4 month checkup today and he's doing so good! He is now 25" long and weighs 13 lbs. He had his second set of shots and he did so well! While the doc was talking to me she had him on his belly seeing if he holds his head up. Not only did he hold his head up at a 90 degree angle he rolled over for the first time!!!! We were both amazed! She asked if he had ever done it before and I said no! That's the first time! He had these big blue eyes bulging out probably thinking what just happened!!!??? He is getting so big! He is now wearing 6-9 month clothes!

We're leaving this weekend to North Carolina to see Auntie Gloria and Uncie Rob and Great Grandpa. They haven't seen him since he was born! Are then in for a shock! :-)

Hey Grandpa Reyes: Check out my onsie! It is a police car and says "Little Hero". Too cute!

Easter 2007

We had such a good time with Uncle Mat and Aunt Amanda. The weather was yucky (it snowed in April!) go figure! We managed to find some fun time though. We went to the Blueridge Parkway and checked out some great views! Scott put them to work as soon as they got here building a shed from scratch. It looks great though! Thanks guys! They also did a great job putting Jackson to bed and changing poopy diapers! Great practice!! We can't wait to see them again in June!
