9 months

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. Here are some pics of Jackson playing in his room. He is doing so well. Still crawling around everywhere. We're still learning how to walk. He moves from furniture to furniture so he's getting more brave!

He is saying Momma and Dadda and even imitates Casey snorting! He comes up with new noises everyday. He is playing great with the other babies. We are still learning how to share though! He's not so good at that! He does have the "Samuel" competitiveness though! When one of the other babies are crawling in front of him he thinks it is a race and starts crawling really fast to beat them! It is too funny. He does this on numerous occassions!

He is outgrowing his infant car seat so a convertible car seat is our next big purchase. His feet hit the back of the seat so it's time for an upgrade! Those things are not cheap!

Jackson bungee jumping

I know it had to come sooner or later but Jackson had his first big "fall" on Friday morning. He fell out of his highchair and hit his little head. The table must not have been clicked properly (my fault) and he pushed it out and fell on the floor. I was so terrified. He started screaming and I picked him up off the floor. His forehead, between the eyes and nose were really red. Since he hit his head I took him in to see his pediatrician. She checked him over and reassured me he was fine and that this would not be the the last hard fall he would ever take. I felt so guilty! I cried all the way to the doctor! :-(

She said the most that would happen was he would have a headache or some bruising on his face and maybe even black eyes! Thankfully he didn't get any of that. He was back to playing the same day and this morning he had no more redness or even a bump on his head. He must have a head made of steel! Poor little guy. It was such a scary site.

Anyway, thought I would let everyone know.

More pics at the beach!

Holden Beach, NC

Well we had an amazing time at the beach this past week. Other than Jackson catching a cold and us not getting any sleep we had a blast! The weather was perfect with not one rainy day! Jackson was a little hesitant about the water but by the end of the week he was playing in the sand and running in the water! The beginning of the week was tough. Jackson was a mess with his cold, separation anxiety kicked in full gear with lots of new faces and then a change in his schedule. He was a trooper though still out in the sand! He warmed up to everyone towards the end as well. Hopefully next time we see them all he will remember them! Here are some pictures of our week!

First cold

Well, Jackson finally got his first cold at 8 months. We went to the beach this past week and he caught one. I tried sanitizing his toys but it still found him! :-( It was a long week at the beach with his cold but he still had a great time! We were up all hours of the night with a runny nose but no fever. Thank goodness! Amazing how it happend on our vacation.

Mom's 28th b-day

We had so much fun spending the weekend in Norfolk, VA. We hung out with Chris and Micah and ate lots of seafood! Yum! Our hotel overlooked the bay and the weather was great! Jackson did really well. He got to stay up a little later than usual with mom and dad! Scott and Jackson had chocolate covered strawberries sent to our room on my birthday! Awww, how sweet! Jackson got to get on his first firetruck!! The firemen were really nice and let us take pictures. The last pic is of us on a water taxi. It was only $1 to take it over to the other side of the bay. Jackson was being a sleepy doo!

Mud Run

Here are a bunch of pics of the mud run we went to in Norfolk, VA. Scott, Chris, Micah and Chris all participated. I was supposed to but had to back out and watch Jackson after my mom got sick and couldn't make it. It looked like a pretty hard 5 miler but they all made it through!!! The start was right on the beach and the weather couldn't have been more perfect with a high of 76!

AND HE'S OFF!!!!

Alert the media! Jackson is crawling!!!! We were upstairs in his room playing this afternoon when he just started crawling towards me out of nowhere! He has attempted crawling many times and moved his legs a little but then would fall out of frustration. As soon as he realized he was MOBILE he didn't want to stop! It was too funny! I am so proud of him! Now we have to baby proof the house! What an early birthday present for Mom!
